SA 8000 Standard is a document that deals with the subject “Social Responsibility”, establishing a code of conduct for companies related to the following subjects:
- Child Labor
- Forced or Compulsory Labor
- Health and Safety
- Freedom of Association and Right to Collective Bargaining
- Disciplinary Practices
- Working Hours
- Management System
SA 8000 Standard was created by a non-governmental organization based in the United States and called CEPPA, current SAI – Social Accountability International. Its mission is to improve and encourage the continuous improvement of working conditions in companies in a global way.
